Holiday Ornament

The minute I saw the ornament on the front cover of the Holiday catalogue, I couldn't wait to try it out. I also had it as a class last month, the only thing about this is the glitter- it goes EVERYWHERE! But I guess it is the season for glitter!!

This was the first one I made

This is one of  the ones I made at one of my classes.
Because I run classes on Thursdays and Sundays, I ended up with two, so I backed them together and Ive hung them in the doorway between the kitchen and living rooms.

If you are interested in how to make one of these I have written instructions available, please contact me for the instructions or if you would like to order the products to make one of these.

Technique Classes

These are just a couple of the cards that we have made at the techniques classes over the last few months.

Christmas Displays

I have been wanting to make this holiday bouquet the minute I saw this on "Diary Of Two Crafty Girls". I started with one pinecone and it was weeks before I finally got back to it- I just love this, the pinecones and flowers are so much fun to make. I just need to make extra pineneedles to cover the glass. I did alter the pineneedles- our pineneedles are really skinny and the ones in the tutorial just looked a bit too wide!

For my Christmas party, I made 8 of these tea light holders and had them placed on the table on the night. I used the flocked window sheets in the "Candlelight Christmas" specialty designer paper, holiday ornaments framelits and the fancy favour box.

Christmas Party Swaps

Earlier this month I had a Christmas party for some of my regulars that come to my classes. I served only desserts! To start with we had dips, then I served pavlova, white choc berry cheesecake, fruit salad, broken glass (jelly), flourless chocolate cake, gluten free cup cakes and regular cupcakes, profiteroles, ice cream and whipped cream. Kathy also made the nicest punch to drink on the night.
We also made swaps for the night;

This was mine, I also had a bag for everyone to keep their swaps in

We all had such a great time that instead of just having another one in the middle of next year, we might plan on having one every season!! Thank you to all of the wonderful ladies for making the night so great.

Explosion Box

Today was my last class for the year, it was just two of my regulars and myself. Since it was the last one for the year I thought I'd do it a little bit different, I pulled out all of my Christmas designer papers that were still a full 12x12 and let them choose what they would like! Since all of the Christmas papers all had a very vanilla background I was able to score all of the base pieces for them no matter what colour they chose. I then had an assortment of punches and  ribbons for them to choose from! It reminded me of those last days of school where the teachers let you just do anything and chill out!

We used the pattern from Splitcoast Stampers, I just resized it to a full 12x12. The middle has pockets and the tags plus plenty of space for photos. For the lids, we made a poinsettia using the blossom builder punch.

For the centre, I covered a brad with hot glue and dipped it into black glitter. To give it a bit of Christmas bling, I then spritzed it with shimmer paint.

The New Stampin Trimmer is here!

This trimmer is FANTASTIC! I love, love love it! It is so easy to use and it cuts perfectly. The base is now wider so you can easily cut the common sizes without flicking out the arm- it even has a little leg to help support the arm! It is also long enough to cut a 12x12 sheet while both the cutting and scoring blades are in the track!

Here are the features of the All-New Stampin' Trimmer

•An extra-wide 15.9 cm cutting base and an extended 39 cm ruler

◦The extra-wide cutting base provides a large work area and is marked in 4 mm increments, allowing for small measurements.

◦The right-side grid helps you measure and cut very thin strips.

◦The extended cutting arm has a stabilizing leg to provide a sturdy and steady cutting surface for longer cuts.

◦When fully extended, the extended cutting arm sits flush with the trimmer base, providing more accurate and consistent measurements across the entire surface.

◦All rulers and measurements on the base are printed under a plastic cover so your measurements won't wear off.

◦The base has nonskid feet, which keeps the Stampin' Trimmer securely in place on your work area.

•A full 30.5 cm cutting and scoring track

◦The extra-long cutting track has space at the top and bottom so you don't have to take the cutting and scoring blades out when you're not using them.

◦The track gives you enough space to cut or score a full 30.5 cm without having to remove or switch out handles.

◦The cutting track locks in place for secure storage or transport.

◦The track includes an insertion point for cutting and scoring blade handles so you can easily insert handles into the cutting track.

•Specially designed handles and cutting track to ensure straight cuts

◦The hook on the scoring and cutting blade handles keeps the handles stable so the cuts are as straight as possible.

◦Handles come in two colours: dark for cutting, light for scoring.

◦The precision tip on the cutting blade allows you to pinpoint precisely where you're cutting.

◦The point on the side of each handle shows you where the blade will cut, making it easy to see exactly where your cuts and scores will begin.

•Storage compartment under base

◦The storage compartment holds scoring and cutting tools such as a Bone Folder, Simply Scored Stylus, extra scoring and cutting blades and even business cards.

◦Separate compartments within the storage compartment keep your tools organised, and the clear cover makes it easy to see what you've stored.

This would be the perfect Christmas present for the paper crafter in the family- order one today!
